Game details
Things are getting slippery!
Mein lieber Scholli turns a penguin chase across drifting ice into a fast-moving children's game for 2-4 players.
Anna Oppolzer and Stefan Kloß build each turn around 2 dice: 1 die sends penguins waddling and diving from floe to floe, while the other moves the shoals of fish that everyone wants to reach first. Gabriela Silveira's lively arctic artwork frames the table with splashing water, scattered fish and a whale that can throw the whole scene off balance.
The board setup brings strong physical presence with 12 wooden penguins, 24 ice tiles, 47 fish, 1 fish board, 2 dice and 1 dice slider. Walli Walfisch changes the rhythm when she surfaces and breaks an ice floe, sending the nearest penguin into the water. That penguin does not simply return to a starting space; it comes back by racing down the ice slide, where the landing decides whether extra fish are gained or a catch is dropped at the ice hole for the next slider.
This constant shift between movement, timing and fish collecting keeps the rules easy to grasp while giving each round a fresh layout. At about 30 minutes, the game fits neatly into an afternoon play session or a second round after dinner. Players aged 6 and above can follow the changing fish positions, watch the slide closely and count the final catch to see who gathered the most fish in this slippery Antarctic contest.
